Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Magnetar ("Magnetar", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, transfers, stores, and protects information when you use the Magnetar mobile application, website, support channels, subscriptions, AI features, and related services (together, the "Service").

Magnetar is an AI app for chat, agents, image generation, image editing, video creation, web research, file analysis, writing, voice, coding, and productivity. Because the Service processes prompts, files, images, audio, and generated outputs, please do not submit information that you do not want processed as described in this Policy.

1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

Magnetar is responsible for handling personal information under this Privacy Policy. For privacy questions, account requests, data protection requests, or App Store privacy questions, contact us at support@magnetar.chat.

If applicable privacy law requires a data protection authority contact or representative in your region, you may still contact us first and we will route or respond to your request as required by law.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to the Magnetar iOS app, magnetar.chat website, support communications, purchase/subscription entitlement handling, notifications, analytics, and AI features. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, platforms, or app stores that have their own privacy policies.

3. Information We Collect

Account and authentication information

We may collect account identifiers, Firebase user ID, email address, sign-in provider information, guest or signed-in status, authentication tokens or related metadata, and account settings. If you sign in with Google or another provider, that provider may share authentication information needed to create or access your account.

Content you submit and generate

We collect and process prompts, chat messages, agent instructions, uploaded files, documents, images, videos, audio, voice transcripts, search requests, coding questions, generated outputs, edits, and other materials you choose to submit, upload, create, or save in the Service ("User Content").

Files, images, video, and voice data

If you use file analysis, image tools, video tools, camera/photos, microphone, voice chat, or transcription features, we process the files, media, audio, metadata, and generated results necessary to provide those features. iOS may ask for permission before allowing access to photos, camera, microphone, files, notifications, or tracking-related identifiers.

Subscription, purchase, and entitlement information

We may receive purchase status, entitlement level, product identifier, subscription status, expiration status, renewal status, transaction identifiers, and related metadata from Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

Device, usage, diagnostics, and analytics information

We may collect app version, build number, device model, operating system version, language, region, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, device or installation identifiers, feature usage, session events, performance information, crash logs, diagnostics, error logs, abuse signals, notification tokens, and security/app integrity signals.

Support information

If you contact support, we may collect your email address, message, attachments, app version, build number, iOS version, device model, account status, Firebase user ID, subscription tier, and other diagnostic information you choose to include so we can investigate and respond.

4. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect

Magnetar is a general-purpose AI tool. We do not intentionally request government identification numbers, payment card numbers, bank account numbers, protected health information, biometric identifiers, passwords, or highly sensitive personal information. Do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request and you understand it will be processed to provide the Service.

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide AI chat, AI agents, image generation, image editing, video creation, web research, file analysis, writing, voice chat, coding, and related features.
  • Create, authenticate, secure, maintain, and personalize accounts.
  • Process prompts, files, images, audio, video, transcripts, searches, and generated outputs.
  • Save chat history, generated media, user preferences, model selections, and app settings where the Service supports those features.
  • Manage subscriptions, credits, paid features, entitlement status, purchase restoration, and App Store subscription support.
  • Provide customer support, troubleshoot bugs, investigate failed tasks, and respond to requests.
  • Send service communications, security alerts, support messages, and notifications where permitted.
  • Improve reliability, safety, product quality, user experience, abuse prevention, and performance.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, spam, harmful activity, security incidents, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and meet platform requirements, including Apple App Store rules.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with similar laws, we process personal information under one or more legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the Service, accounts, AI features, subscriptions, support, and requested functionality.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, prevent abuse, improve reliability, understand usage, troubleshoot issues, and develop the product, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: for permissions or processing that require consent, such as certain device permissions, notifications, tracking-related identifiers, or optional features.
  • Legal obligations: to comply with laws, tax, accounting, consumer protection, law enforcement, or regulatory requirements.
  • Vital interests or public interest: only where applicable and legally permitted.

7. AI Processing and Model Providers

Magnetar does not intentionally disclose users' direct identity information to third-party AI providers for AI processing. We do not send Apple ID, full payment information, Contacts data, precise GPS location, advertising identifiers, account email, or similar direct identifiers to AI providers for AI processing.

Magnetar uses third-party AI services and cloud infrastructure to provide the AI features you request. When you use AI chat, agents, image generation, image editing, video creation, web research, file analysis, voice chat, transcription, coding, writing, or similar features, the content you provide may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers so they can generate, transform, analyze, transcribe, search, moderate, or return the requested result.

When a user chooses to use an AI feature, Magnetar sends only the minimum request content and technical/task context needed to generate the user-requested result. This may include prompts, selected conversation context, agent instructions, uploaded files and documents, attached images, uploaded or generated videos, audio or transcript content for voice features, links, web search requests, coding questions, generated outputs, task identifiers, model selections, language settings, and other context needed to route and complete the request.

AI and media service providers used by Magnetar may include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini and Google Cloud services, image generation providers, video generation providers, transcription or speech providers, web search providers, safety/moderation providers, and related cloud infrastructure providers. The specific provider used may depend on the model, feature, availability, region, safety requirements, and task you select.

Sharing with AI and service providers

We share information with third parties only in the ways described in this Policy. We use third-party service providers to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service, including AI-generated content, authentication, cloud infrastructure, app services, and video generation.

We choose providers that are expected to apply appropriate technical, organizational, privacy, and security measures for the information they process. We require providers that process information for us to use it only for permitted purposes, such as delivering the requested feature, maintaining security, preventing abuse, troubleshooting, complying with law, and supporting the Service.

We do not rent or sell your personal information. We do not sell prompts, files, images, videos, audio, transcripts, or generated outputs, and we do not use User Content for targeted advertising or to build advertising profiles.

The following table identifies important third-party service providers and provider categories that may process information for Magnetar. Some providers apply only if you use the relevant feature, model, purchase flow, sign-in method, website feature, or support channel.

We use these providers to provide the requested AI result, operate the Service, maintain reliability, troubleshoot failed tasks, prevent abuse, apply safety controls, and comply with law or platform requirements. We do not sell your prompts, files, images, videos, audio, or generated outputs. We do not use User Content for targeted advertising or to build advertising profiles.

Third-party AI providers are required by contract, policy, data processing terms, or equivalent safeguards to protect User Content and process it only for permitted purposes, such as providing, securing, supporting, and improving the requested services. Provider retention, abuse monitoring, security review, or legal compliance practices may vary by provider and feature. Where available and appropriate, we use provider controls designed to limit training or unrelated reuse of User Content.

By choosing to use an AI feature and submitting User Content, you direct Magnetar to process that User Content and transmit the necessary request content to the applicable AI and infrastructure providers to complete your request. Because users control what they submit, request content may contain personal information if a user includes it in a prompt, file, image, audio recording, link, or other attachment. Please do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request and you understand it will be processed as described in this Policy.

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe, offensive, biased, non-unique, or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them or sharing them.

8. Third-Party Service Providers

We use service providers to operate the Service. Categories may include:

  • Cloud hosting, databases, authentication, storage, functions, messaging, analytics, app integrity, and crash/diagnostic services, including Firebase/Google services.
  • Apple App Store and StoreKit services for downloads, in-app purchases, subscriptions, cancellation, refund handling, and purchase restoration.
  • AI, search, image, video, voice, transcription, and moderation providers, including providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini and Google Cloud services, and media generation providers used to deliver requested AI functionality.
  • Customer support, email, security, fraud prevention, analytics, and operations vendors.

These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us, comply with law, protect security, or as otherwise described in their own terms and privacy policies. We require service providers that process personal information for us to provide privacy and security protections consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

9. When We Disclose Information

We may disclose information:

  • To service providers and processors that help operate the Service.
  • To Apple or purchase platforms for subscription and entitlement management.
  • To AI and cloud providers to process your requested features.
  • To comply with law, legal process, regulatory requests, court orders, or government requests.
  • To protect rights, safety, security, users, the public, or the integrity of the Service.
  • To enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, or prevent fraud and misuse.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

10. App Store Purchases and Subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple. Apple controls payment processing, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund handling according to Apple's terms and policies. We receive limited purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock paid features, manage subscription status, prevent abuse, and provide support.

11. Tracking, Analytics, and Advertising Identifiers

We may use analytics and attribution tools to understand app performance, subscription funnels, feature usage, reliability, and marketing effectiveness. If the app requests permission to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, we will use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework where required. You can change tracking choices in iOS settings.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16. If applicable law defines certain analytics or attribution sharing as a "sale" or "sharing", you may contact us to exercise your rights or use device settings and consent controls where available.

12. Cookies and Website Technologies

The website may use cookies, local storage, server logs, or similar technologies for security, basic operation, performance, analytics, and abuse prevention. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect website functionality.

13. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may process notification tokens and related information to send service alerts, task updates, subscription-related notices, and other notifications permitted by your settings. You can disable notifications in iOS settings.

14. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, preserve chat history or generated content where enabled, process purchases, provide support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.

Retention periods vary by data type. For example, account data may be retained while your account exists; purchase records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, and fraud prevention; support records may be retained to handle follow-up requests; logs and diagnostics may be retained for security and reliability; deleted account data may be removed or de-identified unless retention is legally required or necessary for legitimate purposes.

15. Account Deletion and Data Deletion

You may request account deletion through the app where available or by contacting support@magnetar.chat. You can also review our account deletion instructions. Deletion may remove or de-identify account information, saved chats, generated content, and related data, subject to legal, security, anti-fraud, backup, and accounting retention requirements.

Deleting the app from your device does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Apple. You must cancel App Store subscriptions through Apple if you no longer want renewal.

16. International Transfers

The Service is operated using global infrastructure and providers. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, including the United States and other jurisdictions that may have data protection laws different from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections, standard contractual clauses, data processing terms, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

17. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, know, confirm processing, correct, delete, export or port, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, opt out of certain processing, appeal a decision, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To make a request, contact support@magnetar.chat.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some requests may be limited by law, security, fraud prevention, legal claims, technical feasibility, or the rights of others.

18. EEA, UK, and Swiss Users

If GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, or similar law applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, data portability, withdraw consent, and complain to your local supervisory authority. We process data using the legal bases described above and use appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required.

19. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

California and certain U.S. state residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, port, opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising, limit certain sensitive personal information uses, and non-discrimination for exercising rights. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise rights, contact support@magnetar.chat.

Categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers, account information, commercial/subscription information, internet or electronic network activity, approximate location, device information, audio/visual/user content, inferences from usage, and support communications. We use and disclose these categories for the purposes described in this Policy.

19A. App Store Privacy Details

App Store privacy labels summarize data practices in Apple's format. This Policy provides the fuller notice. Depending on the features you use, data may be linked to your account or device, including contact information, user content, identifiers, purchases, usage data, diagnostics, and approximate location. Some data may be collected by Apple or other third parties under their own policies when you use App Store purchases, device permissions, sign-in, analytics, or provider-backed AI features.

20. Children and Age Requirements

Magnetar is not directed to children under 13, and in some regions may not be used by children under a higher minimum age without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

21. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including authentication, access controls, app integrity checks, encrypted transport where appropriate, security monitoring, and provider safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

22. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the content you submit, for ensuring you have the right to upload or process it, and for avoiding unnecessary sensitive information. You should review AI outputs before relying on them, publishing them, or using them in decisions.

23. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If required by law, we may provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after an update means the updated Policy applies.
